The Turin Gianduiotti are traditional Piedmontese chocolates, the result of the ingenious intuition of mixing chocolate with toasted hazelnuts. Typical of Turin, gianduiotti have been packaged in silver or gilded paper since 1865, when they were distributed, for the first time, by the popular Turin mask "Gianduia", on the occasion of the city carnival.
